The Kamukunji by-election took place last Thursday. The by-election was generally peaceful, aside from incidents of voter bribery and intimidation. SNA-K started its messaging early in the day, informing voters on how to mark their ballots and encouraging Kamukunji residents to vote. SNA-K also sent a message after results were announced reminding Kamukunjians that the new MP would be accountable to all residents.
The team is having an evaluation meeting next Tuesday August 30th to evaluate the election and how we can improve programming for 2012 and scheduling the exact program for civic engagement and education in Kamukunji in the coming months.
